'Server Busy' Lightroom Error
Once upon a time I use to get the following system error when using Lightroom:
Server Busy
This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy.
Choose Switch To to activate the busy program and correct the problem.
The error pops up again after you get rid of it and it makes your Lightroom experience a total nightmare.
I never did anything about it until this morning when I finally had enough. I trawled a few forums to see if people had similar issues and I found that it was actually quite a common problem. They blamed everything from Norton Internet Security to Spyware to memory leaks and none of the forums had an answer, or their members had fixed the issue and failed to update the thread and it's fellow members on how to get around it.
So, I'm writing this post so the information is on the public domain, so people can Google it and hopefully fix the issue. This fix has worked for me and many others but I also know that it didn't work for some other people.
The problem for me was in the Operating System's 'paging file'. To fix it:
Go into...
> Control Panel
> System & Maintenance
> Advanced System Settings
> Click the Advanced tab
> Click settings in the performance box
> Click the Advanced tab
> Click Change in the Virtual Memory box
> Now change the option from Custom Size to System Managed Size. Done!
Hope this helps :)
