Jmcdermott.ie is the homepage of a 'twenty-something' technology and photography fanatic from Kilkenny, Ireland. The inspiration behind
creating this website was to emulate a digital portfolio, of sorts, and have the chance to showcase and share my interests with the rest of Ireland
and beyond.
The portfolio mentality of this website allows me photographically document my ramblings around Ireland and to help promote the fantastic
imagery that Ireland has to offer. I also like to dabble in technologically-rich areas such as web design & development, computer programming and much more.
Furthermore, I see this as a fantastic opportunity to exhibit all my combined interests on the biggest level of all. The World Wide Web.
As third year IT student, it is only natural that I have an abnormally large amount of interest in all areas of
technology with a particular focus in databases, programming, web design & development, and building, upgrading and repairing computers.
I'm one of the few people who actually enjoy burying my head in software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Eclipse, Notepad++ for hours on end.
In terms of photography, I am the dictionary definition of an amateur and I'm still technically a beginner with loads to learn. I've always been interested
in photography but I only took the plunge to purchase my first DSLR in 2009 and since then I've accumulated over 20,000 actuations, collected over six lenses,
taken photos for various friends and family for no fee, visited nearly everywhere in Ireland and I still ache to find more time for it.
As I'm from Ireland you will see my patriotism mirrored in all my images. From Irish landscapes to Irish seascapes, from Irish faces to
Irish wildlife, from Irish shopfronts to Irish food - I'm influenced by all things Irish.
Contact/add/follow me if you share my interests and don't forget to say hello!
